Housing Advocacy Coordination Project
A statewide coordinated effort to address issues in the
area of public and subsidized housing that are important to people with
disabilities.

The Housing Advocacy Coordinator provides
the following services:
Technical Assistance
- To support to local self-advocacy groups about public
and subsidized housing issues specific to their area
- To support self-advocacy groups on educating their
local housing authorities and local housing counseling agencies
- To provide information on where and how to get funds
for home modification
- Public and Subsidized Housing

- Fair Housing
- Reasonable Accommodations
- How to testify at Consolidated Plan Hearings
- Rights and responsibilities in public and subsidized
housing
- How to file HUD complaints
Advocacy
- The continuing use of rental certificates and voucher
programs enabling people with disabilities to locate their own housing in the
community
- Enforcement of special accommodations
